Police in İskeçe (Xanthi) arrested two foreign nationals on Thursday afternoon after a pursuit involving a stolen motorcycle. The suspects initially failed to comply with a stop signal from officers, and the driver accelerated, performing dangerous maneuvers.
During the escape attempt, the driver struck and injured a police officer. The passenger then tried to flee on foot but was apprehended by the police.
Police investigation revealed that the motorcycle had been stolen earlier the same day in Kavala.
The vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.
The İskeçe (Xanthi) Crime and Investigation Unit is conducting the inquiry.
