Police conduct operations in Alexandroupoli and Evros, arrest 25 people
In a large-scale anti-smuggling operation, the Hellenic Police arrested 25 individuals in Alexandroupoli and Evros.
The Financial Police launched the operation early in the morning, targeting two fuel smuggling networks in Evros, particularly in Alexandroupoli.
Findings of the Investigation:
🔹 Authorities uncovered two criminal organizations in Athens and Thessaloniki that manipulated fuel station pump measurements using specialized software to facilitate fuel smuggling.
🔹 Arrests were carried out in Athens, Larisa, Pieria, Imathia, and Evros.
🔹 Police seized approximately €100,000 in cash, suspected to be profits from fuel smuggling.
The operation highlights the ongoing efforts of Greek authorities to combat fuel smuggling and financial crimes across the country.
