Paşevik hatim ceremony brought together thousands of compatriots

A large crowd attended the hatim ceremony held in Paşevik (Panhi) village of Mustafçova (Miki) Municipality in Xanthi. Xanthi Muslim Turks flocked to the village.

The hatim ceremony held on Sunday, May 28, 2023 for the students of the Paşevik Qur'an Course operating under the roof of the Xanthi Mufti Office, took place with great enthusiasm.

The Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa attended the hatim ceremony together with  the Deputy Mufti Ahmet Hraloğlu.

On the same day, the preacher İrfan Şebek represented Mufti Trampa in the hatim ceremony held in the village of Kireççiler (P.Hrisa) in Xanthi.

In the hatim ceremonies held on Sunday, May 28, 2023; Students' recitation of the Qur'an, poetry and hymns were greatly appreciated.

Mufti Trampa congratulated the Paşevik village Qur'an Course students, their families and the teachers who trained them, and wished them success after the prayer he made at the ceremony.

In his greeting speech, Mufti Trampa emphasized that the Muslim Turks of Xanthi show such interest in the hatim ceremonies, where the unity and solidarity of our kinsmen is displayed in the strongest way, which is an indication of how alive the spirit of brotherhood in the society is.

The Mufti of Xanthi presented a plaque of appreciation to two Qur'an Course teachers, one of whom retired after 38 years and the other 39 years, in the village of Paşevik.

The Hatim ceremony in Paşevik village was attended by the Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa, as well as the Mayor of Mustafçova (Miki) Rıdvan Delihüseyin, the President of the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association, Dr. Hüseyin Baltacı, Xanthi Turkish Union President Ozan Ahmetoğlu, Çınar Association President Cengiz Ömer, FEP Party Deputy Chairman Bahri Belço, Mustafçova Main Opposition List Chairman Cemil Kabza, opposition list leaders Ahmet Kurt and Önder Meçoğlu, and Mayoral Candidate Mücahit Dukkancı, the leaders of minority institutions, religious officials of the Mufti Office and a large crowd of people attended.

After the ceremony in the mosque, traditional “meat pilaf” (rice with meat) and ayran were served to the guests.
