"OLYMPIC COOPERATION – 24" Military exercise underway in Petrohori
The opening ceremony of the "OLYMPIC COOPERATION – 24" military exercise took place on Saturday, November 9, 2024. The exercise, part of Greece’s international military activities, is held from November 11 to November 22 at the headquarters of the 25th Armored Brigade in Petrohori, İskeçe. Armed Forces units from Greece, Albania, Armenia, Austria, Bulgaria, France, Georgia, Jordan, and Cyprus are participating, along with observers from allied and partner countries.
Throughout the exercise, participants are trained in various scenarios involving defensive and offensive operations at the tactical level. The drill involves live ammunition to enhance operational readiness, combat capabilities, mutual understanding, information sharing, and cooperation among the participating forces.
Key attendees at the opening ceremony included Lieutenant General Stavros Papastathopoulos, Commander of the Fourth Army Corps "Thrace"; Major General Ilias Kostakis, Commander of the XX Armored Division "Macedonia Cavalry Division"; and Brigadier General Ilias Tsevdos, Commander of the XXV Armored Brigade "2nd Cavalry Regiment-Ephesus."
