New hospital in Gümülcine to open by end of 2026
Construction of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) General Hospital in Gümülcine is progressing steadily, with completion and opening scheduled for the end of 2026.
The new hospital, designed with a modern and human-centered approach, aims to deliver high-standard healthcare services to residents of the Rhodope region and surrounding areas.
In a statement, SNF emphasized that the hospital’s design places “the healing power of nature” at its core. The foundation also reaffirmed its commitment to transparency and regular updates on the project’s progress.
Launched in November 2023, construction is reported to be advancing according to schedule. Once operational, the Gümülcine hospital will stand as one of the region’s most significant healthcare investments in terms of capacity and quality of service.
