New deputy mayors appointed in Şapçı-Maronya
The mayor of Şapçı-Maronya (Maroneia–Sapes), Apostolos Ioannou, has announced a broad reshuffle of the municipality’s administrative team, appointing new deputy mayors to key posts.
Under the changes, Maria Trifonidou becomes Deputy Mayor for Administration, Finance and Education and will also serve as Deputy Mayor.
Ali Hamit takes over Technical Works and Equipment, while Elisavet Xanthopoulou is appointed Deputy Mayor for Social Policy, Culture, Tourism and Sports.
Mustafa Karagoz is named Deputy Mayor for Primary Production, Water Supply and Civil Protection, Charalambos Tsatsas for Financial and Commercial Activity, Cleanliness and Green Spaces, and Christos Avramidis for the Municipal Unit of Maroneia.
In a statement, Ioannou said the first two years of the administration were marked by challenges and the need to address long-standing problems.
He praised outgoing deputy mayors for their work and said the new appointees bring “energy, goals and optimism” to build on progress already made, stressing unity and cooperation as priorities for the benefit of residents.
