Natural gas imports into Greece through the Dedeağaç Floating Storage and Regasification Unit (FSRU) more than tripled during the first half of 2026, reflecting a sharp recovery in the terminal's operations after technical disruptions experienced last year.

Data released by Greece's natural gas transmission system operator DESFA showed that 3.46 TWh of natural gas entered the country via the Dedeağaç FSRU during the first six months of the year, highlighting the growing strategic role of the terminal in regional energy supply.

The offshore LNG terminal is a key component of Southeastern Europe's energy infrastructure, supplying both the Greek market and neighboring countries while contributing to the diversification of natural gas sources across the region.
