MP Ferhat's demand for fence and protection near Yanıkköy
Rodopi New Left MP Özgür Ferhat called on the Minister of Transport to increase the security measures near Yanıkköy (Nimfea) on the vertical road line connecting Komotini-Bulgaria border.
The heavy traffic and high speeds in the area threaten the safety of the inhabitants of the village and pose a risk of major accidents.
The residents of Yanıkköy village, who are especially engaged in animal husbandry, state that their lives and property are in danger due to the possibility of animals escaping to the road line. For this reason, the villagers urgently demand that a protective fence be built along the road and additional measures be taken to make traffic safer.
In response to this request, MP Ferhat asked the following questions to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure:
1- Construction of a protective fence: Is there a plan to construct a protective fence parallel to Nymfaia (Yanıköy) to prevent animals from crossing the road?
2- Additional Safety Measures: Will additional safety measures be implemented along the road to prevent accidents, such as lowering the speed limit and increasing road signage?
Emphasising that these steps should be taken urgently in order to protect the security of life and property of the people living in the region, Ferhat stated that he will continue to stand by the citizens and follow the issue.
