Mayor Kontos of Xanthi and councillors swear in

There was great interest in the swearing-in ceremony held in the old historical building of Xanthi Municipality. Due to the small size of the hall, many citizens who wanted to watch the swearing-in ceremony had to return from the door.

The religious oath ceremony was led by Metropolitan of Xanthi Pandeleimonas.

After the religious ceremony, the new mayor Stratos Kontos made a speech and said that all means will be mobilised for the transformation of Xanthi and that they are ready to work in cooperation with everyone who loves Xanthi.

Kontos emphasised that the cultural richness of Xanthi is very important for tourism and stated that they will work to fulfil the promises made before the elections.

Stratos Kontos stated that he is ready to cooperate with all councillors who are entitled to be represented in the municipal council and said that they will respond to everyone's ideas and proposals within the framework of respect.

Kontos concluded his speech by thanking all the voters, his family, colleagues and everyone who attended the swearing-in ceremony.

The swearing-in ceremony of the Municipality of Xanthi was attended by the PASOK MP for Xanthi Burhan Baran, the mayors of Topiros, Avdira and Mustafçova, representatives of the police and the army, State President Topsidis, Vice President of Xanthi Kurtidis, former mayors, heads of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chamber of Tradesmen, councillors and many Xanthians.

After the religious and political oath, all councillors signed the minutes.

It was noteworthy that the appointed Mufti of Xanthi also took part in the ceremony.
