Loss for the Turkish Community of İskeçe: Lawyer Orhan Mehmetoğlu passes away
The Turkish community of İskeçe is mourning the loss of Orhan Mehmetoğlu, one of the city’s most senior and respected Turkish lawyers, whose passing has deeply saddened his family, colleagues, and the wider community.
A distinguished figure in the legal field, Mehmetoğlu was widely known for his decades-long service to the Turkish minority in İskeçe. Throughout his professional career, he earned broad respect for his principled stance, integrity, and dedication to justice.
Affectionately known among the public as “Küçük Orhan”, Orhan Mehmetoğlu was not only a lawyer but also a trusted and familiar presence within the community, remembered for both his professional commitment and personal character.
Funeral Arrangements
The late Orhan Mehmetoğlu will be laid to rest on Monday, January 19, following the afternoon (Asr) prayer, in his home village of Kireççiler.
