Kozlukebir Municipality makes statement on water saving

It was stated that there is a shortage of drinking water in Dolapçılar, Hacıköy and Durhasanlar villages of Kozlukebir Municipality of Rhodope province due to drought and certain measures have been taken to eliminate the problem.

In the statement made by Kozlukebir Municipality on the subject, the following statements were made

"Dear people of Dolapçılar, Hacıköy and Durhasanlar.
Due to the lack of precipitation, excessive evaporation, rapid consumption and pollution caused by global warming, clean water resources in the world are rapidly depleting. In this context, unfortunately, there are drinking water problems in our yaka villages this year. As the administration of Kozlukebir Municipality, we held a meeting with the participation of all elected representatives (ruling and opposition) of our Yaka villages and evaluated the short and long term solutions to this problem.
At the end of the meeting, the following precautionary decisions were taken unanimously.

SHORT TERM
-Fields, vineyards, gardens and olive groves will be irrigated only between 22:00 at night and 06:00 in the morning.
-In Hacıköy, water will be cut off every day between 12:00-16:00 for saving purposes.
-If the above measures are not sufficient, in the second stage, the valve in the topallık region of Dolapçılar village will be closed between 10:00 in the morning and 18:00 in the evening.

LONG TERM
Drinking water pomona to YAKA area, for which funds have already been made available in the Technical Programme. In 2018, the irrigation pomona to Hacıköy within the Irrigation Boreholes Project of Kozlukebir Municipality, whose appropriation was approved by the State of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace. (This pomona will be organised in such a way that it can supply water to the drinking water tank when necessary.)

Please, no one should try to make politics over the drinking water issue because this problem is the problem of all of us, therefore we are trying to solve this problem together without making any distinction between the government/opposition. As you can appreciate, we have been in office for only 6 months and these problems have existed for years, but we will solve this problem hand in hand with all our elected officials and the people of the Yaka region. I would like to thank all my mukhtars and councillor friends who attended the meeting and put forward all their good intentions and sincerely seek solutions."
