Komotini Municipal Council administration elected
The new mayors, council members and mukhtars who won the mayoral race in the local elections were sworn in and took office on 1 January 2024.
Following the swearing-in and handover ceremonies, the new and re-elected mayors appointed their deputy mayors and counsellors.
In addition, elections were held for the chairpersons, vice-chairpersons and secretaries of the municipal councils, and new council administrations were elected.
The members who will lead the Municipal Council of Komotini were elected in the council meeting held yesterday.
Lawyer Hristos Hatzipemou, who was elected as a councillor from the Citizens' Community List led by the mayor Yannis Garanis, was elected as the president of the council, while Mechanical Engineer Hasan Hasan, who was elected as a councillor from the KOMOTINI DINATA List led by the main opposition leader Antonis Gravanis, was elected as the deputy president of the council.
Lawyer Seher Colak Hussein, who was elected for the first time as a councillor from the Citizens' Community List led by Mayor Yannis Garanis, was elected as the general secretary of the council.
