İrfan Hacıgene condemned the attack on the Quran and the mosque
Eastern Macedonia and Thrace State Council member İrfan Hacıgene condemned the attack on the Thermes Mosque and the Holy Quran in the village of Ilıca (Thermes).
EMT State Assembly Member İrfan Hacıgene, who made a statement about the tearing of the Qur'an in the mosque, throwing it on the ground and damaging the mosque property by a French citizen, and condemning the ugly attack, said:
“The humiliation and contempt of religious places and symbols that represent religion is never acceptable. Such behavior is always and unequivocally condemned.
We have ensured that everyone can live together in peace and harmony in Thrace, and both communities respect each other's religion. We achieved this together, with mutual effort and mutual understanding.
Therefore, we must isolate those who, by inappropriate actions, provoke the harmonious coexistence of the two religions.
I condemn the disrespect towards the mosque of Ilıca village and I believe that the competent Greek authorities will identify the perpetrator or perpetrators and impose the appropriate punishment.”
