BTTÖB condemns the attack on the mosque
The Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union (BTTÖB) administration condemned the attack on the mosque in Ilıca village of Xanthi by a French citizen of Bulgarian descent.
The Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Union (BTTÖB) administration condemned the attack by a French citizen of Bulgarian origin, the tearing of the Qur'an in the Mosque in Ilıca village of Xanthi, and the attack on mosque properties.
The uninon’s management stated the following in a statement on the subject:
“We condemn the heinous attack on our mosque and our holy book, the Qur'an, in Ilıca village of Mustafaçova Municipality in Xanthi.
The aim of those who reach out to our sanctity by having bad intentions is undoubtedly to disrupt the current peace and climate of peace in our region. It is a positive approach that this opportunity is not given. At the next stage, it is our demand and wish that the aggressor be held accountable before justice and receive the necessary punishment.
We would also like to thank the people of the region who acted with common sense in the face of this ugly event, the security forces who acted quickly and the state officials who reacted immediately to this situation.”
