Important statement from the Region Administration about West Nile Virus
In a statement made by the Press Office of the Region of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace, it was emphasised that no case of West Nile Virus was found in the Region of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace. In the statement made today (Friday, 5 July), it was stated that the news that West Nile Virus was seen in the region is not true.
In the statement denying the news titled "West Nile Virus Case in Abdera" published in a local newspaper in Xanthi, it was stated that the information on the subject does not reflect the truth. In the statement of the Region, the statements of doctor Apostolos Kiryalanis were given and it was stated that there were no patients diagnosed with West Nile Virus or treated for this reason in Xanthi Hospital. It was emphasised that the Region units are closely following the West Nile Virus, citizens should be careful in this regard and so far no case has been found in the province of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace.
