Imam of Hebilköy Village Ali Mahmut Paşa summoned to the police station
Ali Mahmut Paşa, a religious official who has been an imam in Hebilköy for years under the Kozlukebir Municipality, was summoned to the Sirkeli Police Station on Saturday morning, April 25, 2020.

Ali Mahmut Paşa received repeatedly calls by an unknown number during his prayer. After the prayer, he called back the number and it was the police chief.

The police chief had summoned him to the police station on the grounds that the Teravih was prayed together with the crowd.

In the station, Imam was questioned continuously whether the prayer happened amid coronavirus restrictions despite his rejections.

Although the imam had been asking for evidence, it took hours for the chief to show a video published on Facebook. However, this video was recorded in a previous event.

This attitude of the police chief was perceived desperately as suppression in accordance with the digestion policies by the Greek state.
