Hatzigiannoglou: "Beyazit Mosque will be opened to visitors at the end of 2025"

Çelebi Sultan Mehmet Mosque, which is considered one of the most important Turkish-Islamic monuments in the Balkans and was severely damaged by fire in 2017, will be opened to visitors in 2025.

Speaking to ERT Orestiada on the subject, Mayor of Dimetoka Ramilos Hatzigiannoglou stated that a delegation headed by Yorgos Didaskalou, Secretary General of the Greek Ministry of Culture, visited the region last week.

Noting that the purpose of the visit was to initiate cooperation with the contractor company for the construction of the mosque roof, Hatzigiannoglou said, "We will ensure that the mosque is preserved, the roof is repaired and opened to visitors at the end of 2025."
