Hatim ceremony in Elmalı bring together thousands of people

End of year hatim ceremonies of the Qur'an courses affiliated to the Muftiate of Xanthi continue. The hatim ceremony in Elmalı village of Mustafçova Municipality took place on Sunday 30 June. Thousands of people attended the hatim ceremony. The performance of the students of the village imam and Qur'an Course officer Hüseyin Kahyaoğlu and Qur'an Course instructor Secdat Küçük in the hatim ceremony held in Elmalı central mosque was appreciated.

The successful performance of the students, who were meticulously trained by their teachers and prepared for the ceremony, with their recitation of the Holy Qur'an, poems, qasida and hymns, was highly appreciated by the participants.Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, attended the event and made the opening speech.

Mufti Trampa congratulated the village of Elmalı, the parents of the students, the teachers and the students. Afterwards, Hüseyin Baltacı, President of the Western Thrace Minority University Graduates Association, İsmet Tüccar, Vice-President on behalf of the Xanthi Turkish Union, Ahmet Kurt, Mayor of Mustafçova, Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran, MPs of Xanthi, made welcoming speeches and congratulated the students, their teachers and the parents of the children.The event was also attended by Bahri Belço, Deputy Chairman of the Friendship, Equality and Peace (FEP) Party, state and municipal councillors, former Mayor of Mustafçova Rıdvan Delihüseyin and kinsmen from neighbouring villages.

After the Hatim ceremony, traditional pilaf with meat and buttermilk was served to the guests who performed the noon prayer. 

The cleaning and preparations made by the people of Elmalı village hand in hand were appreciated. 

The people of Elmalı, who hosted thousands of guests throughout the day, were happy to sign another successful organisation.
