A 16-year-old boy who was found dead in his home in northern Greece on Friday following a suspected gas leak died from asphyxiation, a forensic examination showed on Saturday.
A 16-year-old boy who was found dead in his home in northern Greece on Friday following a suspected gas leak died from asphyxiation, a forensic examination showed on Saturday.
According to the medical examiner, such death occurs in cases of gas leak due to a lack of oxygen. In this case, the examination showed that there was poisoning by inhalation.
The death is believed to have occurred between 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Friday morning.
Authorities are now waiting the results of the toxicology tests to determine whether the cause was a propane or carbon monoxide leak.
Two of the boy’s sisters, aged 15 and 18, remain in critical condition, while the third one, aged 20 is in hospital but her life is not at risk.
