Fire breaks out near Kurşunlu Beach in Rhodope

A fire broke out this afternoon near Kurşunlu Beach, situated between the villages of Bayatlı and Nurcalı in the Rhodope Prefecture, part of the Komotini Municipality.
The fire, which started around 16:00 in a rural area, quickly spread across the fields due to the dry vegetation, although the cause of the fire remains unknown.
Residents who noticed the fire promptly informed the Komotini Fire Department. In response, a significant number of small and large firefighting vehicles were dispatched to the scene.
Firefighters arrived swiftly and began combating the blaze from all directions—east, west, south, and north. After more than an hour of intense firefighting efforts, the fire was brought under control and eventually extinguished.
