FEP Party: Those who cannot defeat thought and facts want to destroy the thinker

The Friendship, Equality and Peace (FEP) Party reacted to some news reports about the party in the press following the 9 June European Parliament elections.

The statement of the FEP Party reads as follows: "In recent days, we have learnt from the press that those who cannot fight with us in democracy have started to use the judiciary as a weapon against us. Using the judiciary as a weapon against us is a very worrying situation in terms of democracy and justice as well as freedom of opinion."

The party stated that their efforts and success in the elections disturbed the far right and anti-democrats. "Those who cannot defeat thought and facts always want to destroy the thinker, this is the easiest way. In recent days, we have learnt from the press that those who cannot afford to fight with us in democracy have begun to wear the doors of the judiciary. Using the judiciary as a weapon against us is a very worrying situation for democracy, justice and freedom of opinion. We firmly believe that the judiciary will not give any premium to such attempts. Since when has it become a matter of complaint for a party that has built its politics to seek the rights of the oppressed who have been wronged to express its thoughts within the framework of the law?"

The statement also said, "It is not possible to understand this intolerance. Those who have entrusted us with an international treaty should know that banning freedom of opinion to people who are seeking rights within the framework of the law is a persecution. Of course, we will defend the freedom of opinion in the line of our politics until the end. We observe that those who are afraid of our discourses and thoughts are in a rush of guilt. It should not be forgotten that the voice of FEP is the voice of the minority. Trying to silence DEB is trying to silence the minority as a whole. Let it be known that neither DEB nor the minority will remain silent until the rights are restored".
