FEP Party makes history again in the European elections!

The Equality, Peace and Friendship Party (FEP), the only political party of the Turkish community of Western Thrace and its representative in the political arena, has once again achieved a historic success in the European Parliament (EP) elections held in Greece on Sunday 9 June 2024. KIEF, which participated in the elections under the slogan "We are here!", became the first party by receiving the largest number of votes in the prefectures of Rodopi and Xanthi in the European elections of 2024, as in 2014 and 2019.
Participating in the 2024 European elections with a total of 42 candidates, the CFE received 14,448 votes in the prefecture of Rodopi and became the first party with 36.10% of the votes. In the prefecture of Rodopi, the ruling New Democracy party came second with 19.61% of the votes and PASOK-KINAL came third with 8.87%. In the prefecture of Xanthi, the KIEF again emerged as the first party with 27.16% of the votes and received 11,176 votes, while the New Democracy came second with 20.39% and the opposition party SYRIZA came third with 9.90% of the votes.
ND was the winner of the 2024 European elections in Greece, where the turnout remained at 41.39% and political parties on the right end of the political spectrum showed a big increase. In Greece, which has 21 seats in the EP, ND, which exceeded the national threshold of 3%, won 7 seats with 28.31%, SYRIZA 4 seats with 14.92%, PASOK-KINAL 3 seats with 12.79%, and Hellenic Solution 2 seats with 9,30%, the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) 2 seats with 9.25% while the Party of Victory (NIKI), the Party of Freedom and the Voice of Logic won 1 seat each with 4.37%, 3.40% and 3.04% respectively.
On the historic success of the KIEF party in the 2024 European elections, the President of the European Federation of Turks of Western Thrace (ABTTF) Halit Habip Oglu said. With this great success of our party in the EC elections, our society gave a very strong message to those who rule our country and said "We exist and we are Turks!" to those who persistently deny our existence and identity in our country. The biggest share in the historic success of our party, which made a difference in the political map of our country and became the voice of our community for the third consecutive time in the European elections, belongs first and foremost to our party president and then to our party's cadres, to our EP candidates, to our members and to our community who supported our party with their votes.
