FEP Party continues its election rallies

The Friendship Equality Peace Party (FEP) organised its third rally within the scope of election activities on Thursday evening, 30 May 2024 in Bağlar Neighbourhood.

FEP Party continues to work for the European Parliament elections to be held on Sunday 9 June 2024.

After the visits to the villages, the FEP Party management and the candidates for the EP parliamentary seats met with the community at a rally in Bağlar neighbourhood of Komotini on Thursday evening, 30 May 2024.

The rally programme started with the speech of FEP Party President Çiğdem Asafoğlu.

President Asafoğlu stated that important problems such as identity denial, muftiate, foundations, minority education and economy that Western Thrace Muslim Turks have been facing for years continue.

Asafoğlu stated that the FEP Party participated in the elections in order to express the problems that Western Thrace Muslim Turks have been waiting for a solution for years, the wishes and demands of the minority and to make the voice of the minority heard in the capital Athens and Europe.

In his speech, Asafoğlu reacted against the closure of the Western Thrace Fenerbahce Association with the court decision and stated that the decision taken was antidemocratic and that the association cannot be closed by saying "Today we are all Fenerbahce" and that the necessary legal struggle will be made to keep it open.

At the end of his speech, Asafoğlu invited the cognates who attended the rally to vote in the European Parliament elections to be held on Sunday 9 June 2024.

In the continuation of the programme, the MEP candidates took the floor one by one and expressed their thoughts about the upcoming elections and invited the cognates to support the struggle of the FEP Party for the minority community.

The rally ended with a collective souvenir photo.
