Erdi Şerif, President of the Thrace Agricultural Cooperative, has issued a warning to farmers whose crops have been damaged by extreme heat, urging them to file damage reports. This is particularly relevant for pepper and other vegetable producers, as they need to take steps to have their losses compensated.
In his statement, Erdi Şerif advised that producers should report their damages to ELGA (Hellenic Agricultural Insurance Organization) officers at their local municipalities by August 14, 2024. He emphasized that this applies to all vegetable producers in the Rhodope region.
Additionally, Erdi Şerif reminded farmers that the Agricultural Declarations are ongoing, and he encouraged them to insure their crops at the highest possible value. He also mentioned that farmers facing difficulties in filing their damage reports can contact him directly.
Note: Farmers who wish to file a damage report should do so by the specified date.
