EMT Regional Directorate announces start of mosquito control
In a statement made by the EMT Directorate, it was reported that as a result of a series of meetings held within the presidency, they started the work to combat mosquitoes in the upcoming summer season earlier than every year.
It was stated that after the controls carried out in the first phase, it was aimed to kill the larvae by reducing the adult insect populations as much as possible.
Ground spraying against larvae will continue for as long as deemed necessary, and it was noted that if aerial spraying is required, there is already an approved permit for this.
In the next stage of the planning, the fight against adult insects will be carried out by expert teams on the ground and in the air, with a special programme to be broadcast at regular intervals.
