Election manifesto published for the candidates for the province of Rhodope

The election declaration for the presidents of the lists that will compete for the four municipalities in the prefecture of Rhodope in the local elections to be held on 8 October 2023 in Greece, the candidates for councillors and mukhtars to be included in the lists was announced today, Sunday 9 September 2023, by the Multi-Judge Civil Court of Komotini.

With the election declaration, the candidature of the presidents of the lists formed by all parties for the Presidency of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace and the candidates for the state assembly members were registered.

Afterwards, the names of the chairmen of all the lists for the four municipalities of the province of Rodopi and the names of the candidates for councillors from each list were registered.

Last week, the chairpersons of all the lists competing for the state and municipal presidencies finalised their lists and submitted their dossiers to the competent authorities.

During the one-week period, the files submitted by the list chairmen were examined. The names of list chairmen and councillor candidates were checked by the court. As a result of the examinations, the election declaration was announced in court at 12.00 today.

Among those who came to Komotini Courthouse to see the election manifesto were Yannis Garanis, Mayor of Komotini and President of the Citizens' Community List, Antonis Gravanis, Candidate for Mayor of Komotini and President of the KOMOTINI DINATA List and Caner Imam, Candidate for Mayor of Yassıköy and President of the UNITY List.

On behalf of Rıdvan Ahmet, Mayor of Kozlukebir and President of the Democratic Power List, lawyer Mehmet Arnavut came to the courthouse and examined the election manifesto.

Yassıköy Mayor Candidate Caner Imam was the only candidate who came to the courthouse with his team to learn the election manifesto. Caner Imam made a show with his crowded team in the courthouse garden.

After the announcement of the election manifesto, Caner İmam and his team posed together to start the election work. Making a statement to the press after the souvenir photo, Caner İmam said the following.

"With the official announcement of our TOGETHER team, today we start our work and efforts for Yassıköy Municipality. Our team of 157 men and women is made up of the best candidates. I would like to sincerely thank all our valuable candidates in our team for their participation in our collective efforts that we will make TOGETHER. With a sense of responsibility, a serious programme and a determination to work, we will make our municipality proud and victorious again!"
