Eastern Macedonia - Thrace Region present at food fairs in Dubai, Madrid, Stockholm
The Region of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace participated in very important international exhibitions in the food sector, obtaining positive business results and winning, with the excellent quality of the products of its primary sector, impressions.
This effort is being made in the context of the extroversion and strengthening of the export character of the businesses of the EMT Region, but also so that consumers at an international level can get to know the products of the region.
In particular, the EMT Region participated in the following exhibitions:
International exhibition "Nordic Organic Expo" in Stockholm, Sweden
The Swedish public is characterized by its significant numerical data, by its significantly high standard of living and by its general sympathy and preference towards our country.
The Region EMT decided to participate for the first time based on the above characteristics but also after the visit of Swedish food importers and retailers, months ago, which confirmed the development possibilities that exist and which the administration of the Region EMT. x
The Region of EMT was represented by the Vice-Regional Governor of Kavala and Deputy Regional Governor Theodoros Markopoulos and the General Director of the Agricultural Sector Sotiris Papadopoulos, who recorded the relevant trends and the possibilities of further routing the efforts of the food businesses of Eastern Macedonia - Thrace in the Swedish market.
In the context of the exhibition, there was also a meeting with the commercial attaché of the Greek embassy, Pelagia Sousiopoulou, with whom there was a constructive discussion about the prospect of strengthening commercial relations, but also the opportunities to promote EMT's products in the Swedish market and it was agreed to maintain a continuous line of communication and cooperation.

"Fruit Attraction" International Exhibition of Madrid
The Region was represented by the Deputy Governor of Drama, Michalis Mourbetidis, accompanied by the Director of Development P.E. of Drama Elisavet Theodoridou and had constructive contacts with all the participating entrepreneurs who took advantage of the opportunities to promote their local products, and in particular kiwifruit, in the Spanish market.
Their participation in the exhibition was evaluated very positively.
The exhibitors from the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace that participated in "Fruit Attraction 2024" were: "Delta Spar" Kavala - Food Trade and Export of Fruits and Vegetables (asparagus, kiwi), "Alkyon Fruit SA" Kavala - Packaging and trading of fresh fruits and of vegetables (sunflowers, cherries, grapes, apricots), "Schotman SA" of Kavala - Storage, packaging and distribution of agricultural products (asparagus, kiwi), "Tasios Kiwi" of Xanthi (sunflowers).
At the same time, Mr. Mourbetidis had contacts with the manager of "Freskon Greece", organizer of the Greek participation in "Fruit Attraction". The "Freskon Greece" project is an initiative of the "Freskon" International Fruit and Vegetable Exhibition, which is organized by TIF-HELEXPO.

The presence of the Region had extremely positive results. The exhibitors' products attracted the interest of industry professionals, confirming the huge demand of the UAE market for high quality Greek products.
The event is global in scope but mainly attracts the interest of the Arab world and Southeast Asia. It was created to host the "products of the future" , i.e. healthy, fresh and innovative foods, such as organic, vegetable, plant-based, vegan, sustainable, etc.
The East Macedonia and Thrace Region was represented by the General Director of Economy and Veterinary Medicine, Sotiris Papadopoulos and the Director of Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Medicine of Kavala, Leonidas Kastanas.
The businesses of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace that participated in the exhibition were: "November Fruits" (olive oil), Nevrocoop IKE (potatoes), "The bear's honey" (honey).
The priority policy of the administration of the EMT Region is the promotion of the products of the primary sector and the businesses that are active in their processing, processing and marketing and are based in the EMT Region.
In his statement, the Regional President of EMT region Christpodoulos Topsidis emphasized: "Our own administration makes use of the experience we gather from the exhibitions we participate in, in order to achieve a better design in the future, utilizing the excellence of our products and the productive disposition of the people who produce them ".
