Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region increases funding for disability day care center operated by “PERPATO” Association
The Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (EMT) has approved an increase in funding to ensure the continued operation of the Day Care and Daily Support Center for Persons with Disabilities run by the “PERPATO” Association, Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis announced.
By decision of Governor Topsidis, the program will continue under the Regional Operational Programme “Eastern Macedonia and Thrace 2021–2027,” with total public funding, following the increase, reaching €1,139,840. The project is co-financed by the European Social Fund.
The “PERPATO” Association delivers a comprehensive range of social care and protection services for individuals with physical disabilities through its Day Care and Daily Support Center, which currently serves 35 beneficiaries, with the potential for expansion.
Services provided include training in social and daily living skills, development and enhancement of vocational and work-related skills, support for employment and labor market integration, individual and group-based therapeutic and supportive interventions, as well as recreational, cultural and sports activities.
Programs are designed by the Center’s Scientific Director and an interdisciplinary team. Each beneficiary’s individualized plan is reviewed every six months, based on clinical progress and daily rehabilitation needs, and services are delivered both within and outside the Center’s facilities.
“The support of persons with disabilities and their families is a constant priority for the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,” Governor Topsidis said. “By continuing the operation of the Day Care and Daily Support Center of the ‘PERPATO’ Association, we ensure high-quality social care services, strengthening autonomy, social inclusion and dignified living for beneficiaries.”
