Destruction of ammunition at “Ampelonas” firing range in Komotini
The destruction of obsolete ammunition (charges), using the incineration method, will be carried out by army bomb disposal experts at the “Ampelonas” Firing and Training Range in Komotini on April 22, 24, 25, 28, 29, and 30, between 07:00 and 15:00.
During these days and indicated hours, entry and presence of people, vehicles, and animals within the danger zone is strictly prohibited to prevent accidents.
The restricted area is defined by the following coordinates:
Junction of the Komotini–Nymfaia Provincial Road:
41° 8′ 20.14″ N, 25° 25′ 9.22″ E
Area of the “Skopia” hilltop:
41° 9′ 23.97″ N, 25° 25′ 4.62″ E
Junction of the Komotini–Symbola Provincial Road (near the chapel):
41° 9′ 18.82″ N, 25° 24′ 9.75″ E
Junction of the Komotini–Symbola Provincial Road (near the NOUNOU warehouse):
41° 8′ 15.89″ N, 25° 24′ 4.82″ E
Should any individual discover ammunition after the activity has concluded, they are strongly advised not to touch or move it and to immediately notify the nearest military, civil, or police authority.
