Minority lawmaker Zeybek 'threatened' live on TV, the host encouraged!

Xanthi MP Hüseyin Zeybek was threatened by a person who participated in the program broadcast live on the local Next TV broadcasting from Xanthi on 12 September.

A person who had a phone call to the program producer and presenter Panos Papadopoulos threatened Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek by insulting him. On the other hand, the host Papadopoulos drew attention with his encouraging behavior instead of removing the person who participated in the live broadcast and made threats.

Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek condemned both the person who threatened him and the host of the program in a statement he made on his private social media account on Wednesday, September 14.

Zeybek said that such threats do not frighten him and that he will not deviate from the line of seeking rights of the minority, as it has done so far.

Zeybek made the following statement on the subject from his private Facebook account:

“A citizen speaking to Panos Papadopoulos' program ‘Anihti grami’ on Next TV, which was broadcast live on 12-09-2022 at 13.00, insulted me and made threats against my life.

The host and channel owner journalist, instead of condemning the citizen's statements, continued the conversation with him and even took a stance in favor of the citizen's statements.

From the very first moment I started politics, I have received threats and been the target of certain circles, but such actions have never worried or frightened me and have never deviated me from the Minority's pursuit of rights.

However, the fact that I was a constant target and received threats to my life on live TV crossed all boundaries. I think that the media should end the tolerance to all these events, because the main role of the media is to defend democracy, not hatred.

Now! Everyone should take their responsibilities...”
