Deputy Minister of Rural Development visits Evros
The visit is aimed at addressing urgent agricultural concerns, particularly the recent outbreak of the plague virus affecting small livestock in the area.
Upon arrival at Alexandroupolis Airport on Wednesday, August 21st, the Deputy Minister and his delegation were welcomed by Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Regional Governor Christodoulos Topsidis. The visit to Evros will focus on monitoring the situation closely, preventing the spread of the virus, and managing the current emergency effectively.
The first stop on the Deputy Minister's itinerary is the town of Nea Vyssa in the Evros region. According to Governor Topsidis, who shared updates on his personal social media account, the delegation will be conducting a series of meetings and inspections in the region today.
In addition to addressing the livestock plague virus, the discussions will cover other critical issues within the Ministry's purview. Following the visit, a debriefing and evaluation meeting will be held to assess the findings and determine the next steps in managing the situation.
