Deputy mayors of Xanthi Municipality announced
Mayor of Xanthi Stratos Kontos appointed his deputies. Kontos announced the 10 deputy mayors who will serve in 2024.
Two of the 10 people who will serve as vice presidents for 1 year will serve without salary.
Tarenidis Anastasios and Yannis Chepelis will serve without salary.
VICE PRESIDENTS and DUTIES
1. Şaban Bandak: Economy and civil servants.
2. Kostandinos Gagalidis: Social Welfare and Solidarity, Home Help, Health, Care Homes for the Elderly.
3. Kiriakos Papadopoulos: Public Works, Construction.
4. Thomas Iliadis: Repair department, playgrounds, cemeteries, green areas.
5. Athanasios Haciandoniou: Cleaning, Recycling, street animals, landscaping.
6. Anastasios Tarenidis: (without salary) Tourism, Sport.
7. Eleni Yannarou: Education, Education Bureau, Children's Homes.
8. Mihalis Chepelis: Department of Culture.
9. Marios Chorbacidis: Responsible for Yeniköy (Stavroupolis) District and Forest Village (Dasiko Horio).
10. Yannis Capalis: (Unpaid) Civil Defence.
Mayor Stratos Kontos also authorised all deputy mayors to perform civil marriages.
In the coming days, the President of the Department of Water and Sewerage (DEIAKS) is expected to be appointed. It is stated that President Kontos will propose Yennis Zerenedis for the post of President of DEIAKS.
