Dedeağaç “travels” to Istanbul

In an effort to enhance its international outreach and promote Dedeğaç as a dynamic destination in Southeastern Europe, the Municipality of Alexandroupolis and Deputy Mayor for Tourism Petros Kyriakidis visited Istanbul, participating in targeted promotional activities and professional tourism meetings.

The special tourism initiative, “Tourism Open Days,” was hosted at the headquarters of TURSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies) and took place in the presence of the President of TURSAB and the Consul General of Greece in Istanbul, Mr. Koutras.

During the visit, the municipality presented Alexandroupolis as a tourist destination to travel agents, bloggers, and tourism professionals, highlighting the city’s unique advantages as an attractive, modern, and authentic destination. The event was followed by B2B meetings aimed at building new partnerships and networks with Turkish tourism professionals.

The mission concluded with an official dinner at the Sismanoglio Megaro, attended by Consul General Koutras and representatives of tourism and institutional bodies.

The event took place on October 10, 2025, as part of the “Tourism Open Days” program, which includes a series of targeted B2B events in key international markets. This marks the second consecutive year that the Municipality of Alexandroupolis has participated, reaffirming its consistent strategy of international outreach and ongoing efforts to promote the destination globally.

The next stop in the program will be Vienna, Austria, where the municipality will continue its presentations and B2B meetings, further strengthening its international presence and partnerships in the tourism sector.
