Cultural trip to Thessaloniki by Komotini Mufti Office
On Saturday, November 30, 2024, the Young Girls’ Quran Courses under the Komotini S. Mufti Office organized a cultural trip to Thessaloniki.
Participants from neighborhoods such as Bağlar, Yassıköy, and Bekirli in Komotini had the opportunity to explore Thessaloniki's historical landmarks.
The trip began on a rainy morning with a visit to the house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, was born.
The students, accompanied by Türkiye's Consul General in Thessaloniki, Serkan Gedik, toured significant sites, including the Alaca Imaret Mosque, the Rotunda (Sultan Hortac Mosque), and the White Tower, offering a journey through history.
On behalf of the Mufti Office, Deputy Mufti Fehim Ahmet and the participants expressed their gratitude to Consul General Gedik and his team for their warm hospitality during the visit.
