Creative Europe Greece Office holds discussions with Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region
The Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Region (EMT), in collaboration with the Creative Europe Greece Office—part of the EU Department of the Ministry of Culture—will host a series of informational events following successful recent programs in Alexandroupolis and Orestiada.
The events, titled “Local Communities and Culture: The Creative Europe Programme,” aim to inform cultural organizations and citizens about funding opportunities available through the European Union’s Creative Europe Programme, the EU’s sole funding initiative dedicated exclusively to the cultural and creative sectors.

The first session will take place on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 18:00, at the Art and Thought Multipurpose Space (17 Venizelou Street, İskeçe). Speakers will include:

Programme Focus
The event will highlight opportunities offered by Creative Europe, particularly its Culture sub-programme, and will cover:
- Key priorities of the Creative Europe Programme
- Calls for transnational cooperation projects and guidance on preparing successful applications
- CultureMovesEurope, an individual mobility action for cultural professionals
- Best practices from organizations that have previously participated
Officials noted that strengthening the cultural sector has broader implications for local communities, supporting economic growth and serving as a lever for regional development.
