Consul General Ünal participates in AA’s “Photos of the Year” voting

Turkey’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, took part in Anadolu Agency’s (AA) “Photos of the Year” voting, carefully reviewing and selecting his favorites from the featured works.
The voting included photographs taken by AA journalists and photojournalists from Turkey and abroad, supported by Roketsan, Lifebox, and Sony, across five distinct categories.
Consul General Ünal’s selections by category were as follows:
Free Syria:
Mustafa Bathiş’s “Freedom Plane”, Emin Sansar’s “Faceless” and “People, Flag, Freedom”.
Nature and Environment:
Ali İhsan Öztürk’s “On the Hunt”, Lukas Kabon’s “Rescued Life”, and Garry Lotulung’s “Comet and Volcano”.
Sports:
Burak Akbulut’s “Flying with Joy”, Samir Jordamovic’s “Night Dive”, and Hakan Akgün’s “Eagles”.
News:
Yunus Türkyılmaz’s “Moon and Its Satellite”, Mehmet Emin Mengüarslan’s “Defense of the Blue Homeland”, and Hakan Akgün’s “Time Fracture in Çanakkale”.
Daily Life:
Beytullah Eles’s “Carpet Motif”, Sayim Harmancı’s “In Pursuit of Play”, and Özkan Bilgin’s “One in a Million”.
Consul General Ünal emphasized the vital role of photography in witnessing and preserving history. He expressed deep respect for the efforts of photojournalists, stating, “Photographers bridge the past and the present, capturing human stories in the most impactful way.”
