The conference, titled “January 29: Resistance in Our Memory, Honor in Our Identity,” will take place on Friday, January 30, at 7:30 p.m., at the Cultural Center of the Xanthi Branch of the Association of Higher-Educated Members of the Western Thrace Minority.

The events of January 29 hold a profound place in the collective memory of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, symbolizing a dignified struggle against pressure and denial. The conference aims to examine the spirit of resistance that emerged in response to unjust and oppressive practices, as well as issues of identity awareness and collective memory.
Distinguished Speakers
The event will feature speeches by Mustafa Trampa, President of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and Mufti of İskeçe, and journalist Ozan Ahmetoğlu.
Organizers stated that the conference is open to the entire Western Thrace community, inviting all members of the public to attend and reflect on the historical and social significance of January 29.
