Dozens of volunteers of all ages took part in a community tree-planting event in Amaranta, organized by the Municipality of MaroneiaŞapçı in cooperation with the environmental initiative “Oloi Mazi Boroume” (Together We Can) of the Greek television network SKAI.

The event took place on the morning of Sunday, March 8, in an area near the Amaranta football field, attracting strong participation from the local community. Children and young people were particularly active, bringing energy and enthusiasm to the environmental initiative.

Local Community Supports Environmental Action
Participants worked together to plant dozens of trees, contributing to efforts aimed at strengthening green spaces, protecting the natural environment, and improving the local ecosystem.

Municipal officials emphasized that such initiatives not only help restore nature but also play a key role in raising environmental awareness among citizens, especially younger generations.

Cooperation Between Local Authorities and Civil Society
The Municipality of MaroneiaŞapçı expressed gratitude to the “Oloi Mazi Boroume” initiative for the cooperation, as well as to the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace for supporting the project.

Special thanks were also extended to the local sports clubs “Dynamis Amaranton” and “Elpida Sapon” for their contribution to the successful implementation of the event.

Municipal representatives highlighted that volunteer actions like this demonstrate how collective effort and community cooperation can help build a greener and more sustainable environment for the region.

They added that environmental activities not only support ecological protection but also strengthen the spirit of volunteerism within the local community.
