Regional Governor of East Macedonia and Thrace, Christos Metios have met the Turkish Muslim councilor candidates from his list, which is named "Νew Regional Regeneration" in iftar.
The event which takes place for the first time in the political history of Western Thrace was held on Thursday, in a restaurant, in Thamna. Turkey’s General Consul of Komotini, Murat Ömeroğlu attended to the iftar meeting and wished success to all candidates in regional elections which will take part on Sunday.Councilor Ahmet Ibram expressed his pleasure because of the event and thanked the Regional Governor of East Macedonia and Thrace, Christos Metios.
The iftar organization attracted attention because these kind of organizations organized by Greek Governers are not common. The event was assessed as a "first" for the Turkish Minority history by the public opinion.
