Bulustra Municipality seeks state of emergency after severe storm damage to coastal zone and road network
According to municipal authorities, severe rainfall led to significant deterioration along the coastal zone, while multiple sections of the local road network also sustained damage.
Coastal Front and Roads Hit by Heavy Rainfall
The strong weather system once again exposed vulnerabilities in the coastal infrastructure of the region. Erosion and structural strain were reported along parts of the seaside zone, raising concerns about both public safety and long-term environmental impact.
At the same time, road surfaces in several areas of the municipality suffered cracks and degradation, complicating transportation and increasing the urgency of immediate repair works.
Recurring Flooding in Skala Avdiron–Mirodato Area
As in previous episodes of heavy rainfall, flooding phenomena were recorded in the Skala Avdiron–Mirodato area. The repeated occurrence of such incidents highlights ongoing drainage and flood management challenges in the broader coastal region.
Municipal officials stressed that the declaration of a state of emergency would accelerate procedures for funding allocation and restoration projects, allowing for faster intervention to repair infrastructure and prevent further deterioration.
A detailed report on the full extent of the damages and the municipality’s next steps is expected in the coming days.
