Beware! Scammers posing as accountants are active again!
According to local news reports, many residents of Dedeağaç received suspicious calls on Saturday, February 17.
Scammers' Tactics
- They introduce themselves as accountants or employees of accounting firms.
- They claim to be processing tax refunds, bank transactions, or government benefits and ask for personal and financial information.
- Their goal is to steal Taxisnet codes, bank details, and online service credentials.
One victim reported that they received a call from an unknown number and were approached by a woman claiming to be an accountant. She asked for card details, claiming it was needed to process a tax refund. However, the person became suspicious and refused to provide any information, insisting on speaking with their own accountant. The scammer then quickly ended the call.
