Beautifully Reciting Contest for the Beautiful Qur'an in the village of Üşekdere

The Elected Mufti of Komotini, organised the 15th  Beautifully Reciting Contest for the Qur'an. The event was held in the village of Üşekdere on Sunday, May 21.

This year, Evrenköy Qur'an Course Student Melda Haseki came won the competition.

As a result of the eliminations in eight regions, the regional winners qualified to compete in the final.

Elected Mufti of Komotini İbrahim Şerif, Deputy Mufti Fehim Ahmet, Turkey's Consul General to Komotini Murat Ömeroğlu, Mayor of Kozlukebir Rıdvan Ahmet, Speaker of the Assembly Rukiye Rızgıç, Kozlukebir Municipality main opposition President Erdem Hüseyin, DMT Deputy Provincial President Tarkan Multaza, Sedat Hasan, President of Komotini Turkish Youth Union, Deputy Chairman of FEP Party Metin Hacıosman, Chairman of BIHLİMDER Mehmet Emin Ahmet, President of Western Thrace Mosques Religious Officials Association Sadık Sadık, villagers and guests from surrounding villages attended.

 Making a short speech before the competition, Deputy Mufti Fehim Ahmet stated that their aim in organizing these competitions is to contribute to the religious education of children, and reminded that families and teachers have a great responsibility in order to keep our national and spiritual values ​​alive.

Turkey's Consul General to Komotini, Murat Ömeroğlu, started his speech by congratulating those who contributed to the realization of the organization, and said that everyone made a selfless effort in this competition, so everyone was the winner of hearts.

Afterwards, the competition started with the verse from the Qur'an determined by the Consul General Ömeroğlu pressing the start button, and the competition started with the first contestant reciting the verse from the Qur'an.

5 jury members identified the winners. The winners of the Quran courses from 8 regions competed among themselves.

The following regional winners competed among themselves in the competition: Balkan Region, First District: Yassıköy, Second Region: Omurlukoy, Third Region: Payamlar, Fourth District: Evrenköy, Fifth Region: Yardimli, Sixth District: Meriç Evros District Çilingir Mahalle, Seventh District: Central Komotini Yeni Mahalle.

At the end of the event, meal was served to all participants by the people of Üşekdere village.

The 16th competition is expected to be organized next year.
