Batuhan Kaşifoğlu named presidential candidate of “White List” ahead of BTTDD General Assembly

The Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association (BTTDD) has officially announced Batuhan Kaşifoğlu as the presidential candidate of the “White List” faction ahead of its upcoming General Assembly.

The association’s Ordinary General Assembly is scheduled to take place on May 10, 2026, where members will vote to determine the organization’s new leadership.

Candidate Chosen Through “Collective Will”
In a press statement released prior to the assembly, BTTDD emphasized that Kaşifoğlu’s candidacy emerged through extensive internal consultations and reflects what it described as the “collective wisdom and strong will” of the organization.

According to the statement, the selection process was shaped by the association’s long-standing institutional traditions, as well as its emphasis on unity and solidarity among members.

Experienced Leadership Highlighted
BTTDD underlined that Kaşifoğlu has held various positions within the organization and has distinguished himself through his commitment to the cause, leadership capabilities, and sense of responsibility.

The association stressed that the nomination should not be seen as a decision centered on an individual alone, but rather as part of a broader vision to strengthen representation and advance the rights of Western Thrace Turks.

Call for Unity Ahead of Vote
The leadership also called on all members to contribute to the process with “common sense, consultation, and a spirit of fraternity,” reaffirming its commitment to unity as the organization moves forward.

The statement concluded by highlighting the importance of maintaining cohesion around shared values while building on the association’s legacy.

The announcement was jointly signed by BTTDD President Hasan Küçük, along with branch presidents and board members from multiple cities including Adapazarı, Bakırköy, Edremit, Gaziosmanpaşa, İzmir, İzmit, Küçükçekmece, Soma, Üsküdar, Yalova, and Zeytinburnu.
