In Alexandroupoli, a group of anti-war protesters blocked a train carrying tanks belonging to the USA and NATO by setting up a barricade on the railway track.
A group of members of the Communist Party of Greece (KKE) organised an anti-war protest on the railway line in Alexandroupoli.
The protesters chanted "Alexandroupolis is not the castle of imperialists, but the harbour of peoples".
The protesters set up a barricade on the railway track and stopped the train carrying tanks belonging to the USA and NATO.
During the demonstration where Palestinian flags were also carried, a demonstrator wrote "Murderers, go back to your homes" on the tank on the train.
Alexandroupoli, near the Turkish and Bulgarian borders, had become an alternative route for the delivery of NATO military equipment to Eastern Europe via Romania and Bulgaria after the war in Ukraine.
