Ali Haseki passes away
Imam Ali Haseki, one of the leading people of the region who served for many years in Mehrikoz village of Kozlukebir Municipality, passed away at the age of 81.
Imam Ali Haseki, who served in Mehrikoz village for years but also served the cognates residing in the neighbourhoods in the region with his hospitality, modesty, benevolence, researcher identity, support to the press, his important archive consisting of press-publication organs and his contribution to the Western Thrace Culture and Education Company (BAKEŞ) with this archive, won the love of people, small and big, and established a throne in the hearts of everyone.
Imam Ali Haseki, who never gave up serving and helping the people of the region despite having many health problems for years, has been residing in Kozlukebir village in recent years with his son Mehmet Haseki, who is the religious officer of the village.
As a result of the progression of the diseases, he passed away at 19.30 on Saturday evening, 2 March 2024.
Ali Haseki, 81, who left behind beautiful traces and memories with his services in the Mehrikoz region, will be laid to rest by his loved ones in Kozlukebir Cemetery after the funeral ceremony to be held today (Sunday, 3 March 2024) following the afternoon prayer.
With the death of Ali Haseki, the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace has lost a valuable person.
Ali Haseki made a great effort to ensure that MİLLET Newspaper reached the Mehrikoz region and was read by the cognates for many years. He was almost a member of the MILLET family. We are pleased with him, may our Lord be pleased with him and may his place be in heaven.
