Ahmet Mete to be commemorated on fourth anniversary of his passing
The late Mufti Ahmet Mete, one of the most prominent leaders of the Turkish community in Western Thrace, will be commemorated on the fourth anniversary of his passing with a memorial ceremony at his gravesite on July 14.
According to a statement by the Mufti's Office of İskeçe, the ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. at the Lower Neighborhood Cemetery in İskeçe.
The program will include prayers following the completion of Quran recitations by local religious officials, as well as speeches honoring Mete's legacy and contributions to the Muslim Turkish community of Western Thrace.
Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of İskeçe and chairman of the Consultative Committee of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace, invited members of the community to attend the commemoration ceremony.
