ABTTF presidential board holds second regular meeting
During the session, members reviewed activities carried out since the previous meeting and discussed international initiatives planned through the end of the year. Among these, ABTTF confirmed its participation in the 69th Congress of the Federal Union of European Nationalities (FUEN), to be hosted by the German and Ladin minorities in South Tyrol, Italy.
The board also assessed current developments concerning the Western Thrace Turkish community and recent events in Greece. A key issue raised was the case of the Turkish primary school in Mizanli, İskeçe, which remains closed despite sufficient student enrollment and parental applications.
The ABTTF Presidential Board called on the Greek authorities to reopen the school without delay, stressing that the continued closure constitutes a violation of the right to education and reflects discriminatory practices against Western Thrace Turkish students.
