ABTTF holds final executive board meeting of 2024

The Executive Board of the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF) convened for its 11th regular meeting on Saturday, December 7, at the federation’s central office in Witten, Germany. The meeting was attended by members of ABTTF’s 21st Term Audit and Disciplinary Committees.
2025 Activity Plan Discussed
During the meeting, the board reviewed the activities and initiatives undertaken since the last session. Discussions focused on planned international efforts for 2025 aimed at addressing the challenges faced by the Turkish community in Western Thrace.
Recent developments affecting the community were also on the agenda, including the October incident involving state-appointed deputy muftis at the Çınar Mosque in Xanthi’s Aşağımahalle neighborhood during Friday prayers. The board further discussed the European Council of Ministers' recent decision, which reiterated Greece’s ongoing failure to implement European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rulings for over 16 years. These rulings pertain to the organizational rights of Western Thrace Turkish associations and Greece’s continued violations of freedom of association.
