A tragic incident occurred at Avdira Beach in Xanthi, where a 78-year-old man drowned. The elderly man was reported missing on Thursday, August 15, prompting search efforts by the coast guard and local volunteers.
After an extensive search involving six boats, a helicopter, and both sea and land units of the coast guard, the man’s lifeless body was discovered on the morning of Friday, August 16.
