TRT World Retaliation Reuters' political posting
TRT World's job advertisement in response to Reuters' announcement of staff recruitment, which contains political propaganda against Türkiye, drew attention to the political instability in the UK, the economic problems, and the fact that it is still ruled by royalty in the 21st century.
The British news agency Reuters used a political campaign-oriented language in the job advertisement for "Assistant Bureau Chief in Türkiye". In the announcement, which alleged that there was a move away from modern secular traditions under President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's rule, negative evaluations regarding inflation and the Turkish lira were included.
TRT World, one of Türkiye's internationally influential channels broadcasting in English, responded to the announcement in a similar language.
TRT World, in its advertisement for correspondent recruitment in London, made reference to the statements in Reuters' advertisement.
No political leaders were targeted
The advertisement drew attention to the political instability, economic problems, and the fact that this country is still ruled by royalty in the 21st century.
In the TRT World announcement, it was emphasized that the Scottish government's demands for independence threatened the unity of England, and that high inflation and the depreciation of the pound endangered the unstable politics of England.
The announcement, which did not target any political leader, included the following statements:
"The failure of British governments to respond to major challenges such as the successive Covid-19 pandemic, Brexit, the global economic crisis has thrown British politics into a mess. Short-term British governments are leaving the country's future in limbo and driving the UK away from Europe. "With the death of Queen Elizabeth, the debate on the existence of the Crown in the modern age as a form of government from the Middle Ages gained momentum. We need reporters with a strong pen who can cover these issues."
